Madikwe River Lodge is located in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve,

South Africa. The Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the North West Province of South Africa and borders Botswana in the north west. The diverse habitat ranges from riverine to acacia savannah. Surrounded by 75 000 hectares of malaria-free African sand veld, this luxury lodge is ideally positioned on the Groot Marico River in the heart of Madikwe Game Reserve.The experienced game rangers generously share their intimate knowledge of the bush as you venture on your many safari rides or game walks. Discover the mystery of the acacia bushveld, enjoy a myriad of birdlife and experience the thrill of observing the majestic "Big Five" in their natural habitat.

 

The accommodation

Madikwe River Lodge - Luxury accommodation in sixteen thatched chalets on the bank of the Marico River. The chalets are tastefully and colourfully furnished with cosy beds, ethnic mats, art work, tiled floors and mosquito netting. Each chalet is a secluded split-level thatched chalets set in the cool tranquillity of a riverine forest and decorated to create a rich African feel, and offer an en-suite bathroom and shower with a full range of guest amenities, ceiling fans, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, and a private wooden viewing deck overlooking the river.Luxury Suite features includes a separate lounge area and an outside shower. Madikwe River Lodge is a child-friendly establishment, and offers six family rooms, with twin beds and an additional sleeper couch. Baby cots are available on request.

Guests can look forward to participating in a range of game viewing activities during their malaria-free safari in South Africa. Game drives are ideal for trying to spot the Big Five (Lion,Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino).

Bushwalks
Join a guided bush walk which allows guests to experience the African bush up close. Some of the game guests might spot during their game viewing activities include the endangered African Wild Dog, Caracal and Aardvark. The area is also rich in a diverse range of bird life.
